Scott has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Civil Trial Practice since 1990. Less than two percent of Florida lawyers are Board Certified. He has been continuously rated "AV," a distinction reserved exclusively to those lawyers who uphold both the highest standards of both legal ability and ethics. He has been named one of the Top attorneys in the State of Florida by Superlawyers.com. But the honor that Scott is perhaps most proud of is an informal one, which is simply being known as the "lawyer's lawyer."
